Cinnamon-Spiced Baked Apples

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Gala)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact to hold the filling.
  2. Mix pecans, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then stuff each apple with the mixture.
  3. Place apples in a baking dish, add water to the bottom of the dish, and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Serve warm as a festive, gout-friendly dessert!
