Turmeric Ginger Tea

Ingredients (Serves 2):

  • 2 cups water
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • A pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
  • Optional garnish: a cinnamon stick or a slice of lemon

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Water:
    Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan.
  2. Add Ginger and Turmeric:
    Add the sliced ginger and turmeric to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain:
    Strain the tea into cups to remove ginger and turmeric solids.
  4. Flavor It:
    Stir in the honey (if using) and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  5. Enhance with Black Pepper:
    Add a pinch of black pepper to each cup to boost turmeric’s health benefits.
  6. Optional Garnish:
    Add a cinnamon stick or a lemon slice for extra flavor and presentation.
